Not Just Travel appoints new recruitment head
Homeworking franchise Not Just Travel and sister company The Travel Franchise have appointed Louise Baxendell as recruitment manager for its Experienced Travel Agent division.
With claims of receiving ‘more than 250 enquiries’ in her first week, Baxendell will recruit agents for the Bournemouth-based company’s recently launched Experienced Travel Agent division, where agents are supported to grow their business.
Baxendell’s experience includes working with brands including Thomson Holidays, Lunn Poly, Global Travel Group and the Co-operative Travel Group.
Co-founders Steve Witt and Paul Harrison said they had seen enquiries ‘go through the roof’ as people look for new jobs, in particular homeworking. Plans over the coming months include increasing the size of their recruitment team as they launch new business divisions and attract new members.
In September, Harrison revealed it was targeting between 50-100 agents for its Experienced Travel Agent division.
Harrison said: "There are two type of people joining us right now. Those who have worked in travel and been made redundant. They don’t want to leave but want help and support to get started. The second are those already in homeworking but looking for better commercial terms to help them during this period and help to find customers. That’s what we are good at doing and it shows".
Not Just Travel said September saw ‘record sign-ups’ with those who have joined the company in 2020 already seeing the financial rewards.
"Last month we had one of the best commission months for the year in terms of what we paid out to our travel consultants. We don’t sign people up with false hope, people are making money. We are determined to be the best in the industry, and we are investing in the best team for that. We believe we offer the best support and training in the industry with the best ratio of mentors and managers to travel consultants," said Harrison.
