Operators are gearing up for a flood of bookings for their World Cup packages following England’s 5-1 win against Croatia last night.

Thomas Cook Sport is Participating Tour Operator for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and has packages available from £2,499.

“It’s fantastic that England have now qualified for the World Cup in South Africa and we’d add our congratulations to those of the fans,” said Danny Talbot, managing director.

“With many supporters looking to be with the team during the competition we’re anticipating that demand for our packages will be very high.”

Packages include direct return flights, accommodation at a three- or four-star hotel and a minimum of one match ticket, with the top package including tickets for all of England’s Qualifying Group games. Flights depart from London and Manchester.

Meanwhile, Thomson Sport has launched new one match official travel packages for the event.

Managing director Nathan Wilson said: “England’s result last night was fantastic. Since the final whistle enquiries by fans looking to follow their heroes to South Africa are flooding in.”

Prices start from £2,500 for a four- or five-night package including flights, staying at the three-star Park Inn Hotel on B&B in central Cape Town, all transfers, an official match ticket for group stage, plus a safari experience.
