PAL, WestJet ink codeshare pact

Wednesday, 11 February 20153 min read

Canadian carrier WestJet and Philippines Airlines will launch a codeshare partnership in a move which will significantly increase PAL’s reach in North America.

Under the agreement PAL will place its code and sell seats on six routes operated by WestJet from Vancouver and Toronto.

PAL will continue to fly into those two cities from Manila.

The six new codeshare routes include services between Vancouver and Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Toronto, and from Toronto to Montreal and Ottawa.

The Philippines flag carrier will start flights to New York following the US FAA’s upgrading of the Philippines aviation quality standards to Category 1 last year.

PAL currently operates a total of 26 weekly flights to the US – to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu and Guam.
