Passenger who mooned flight crew could face 20 years in jail
An Irishman who repeatedly refused to wear a mask during a transatlantic flight is facing the possibility of 20 years in prison.
During an in-flight meltdown, Shane McInerney, 29, from Galway, allegedly refused to wear a mask, was disruptive, threw a drinks can that hit a passenger, and dropped his pants and mooned at a Delta flight attendant.
He is charged with causing a disturbance on a Delta Air Lines flight on 7 January. If convicted he could be sentenced to 20 years, the US justice department said.
