Plane diverted after airport workers realised colleague was trapped in hold
An investigation is underway after a plane had to make an emergency landing when it was discovered that a crew member was trapped in the hold.
The Angola Airlines Boeing 777-300 had only just taken off from the Portuguese city of Porto bound for Angola in southern Africa when the realisation was made.
The plane was diverted to Lisbon when staff at Porto noticed a member of the ground crew was missing.
On landing at Lisbon, the man was discovered locked in the cargo hold and suffering from hypothermia.
According to the Aviation Herald, he had fallen and was knocked unconscious while loading two animals belonging to passengers. He is now recovering in hospital.
