Plane overshoots runway at regional airport

An investigation has begun after a plane overshot the runway at Durham Tees Valley Airport.

Three people escaped injury in the incident, which has been blamed on a bird strike.

Emergency services were on stand by after the pilot of the aircraft reported a bird strike and aborted take off.

The Falcon 20 jet, operated by Cobham Aviation Services, sustained some damaged.

The airport is operating as normal.
