Tuesday, 23 July 20133 min read

Passengers and crew were injured when a Southwest Airlines aircraft lost its front landing gear as it landed at New York’s LaGuardia Airport yesterday.

According to reports, the nose of the Boeing 737-700 skidded along the runway before veering off and coming to a stop in the grass.

Six passengers and six crew members were taken to hospital after the 150 on board were evacuated down inflatable chutes.

The Federal Aviation Administration said pilots has reported "possible front landing gear issues" before landing.

The flight was travelling from Nashville.

An investigation has now begun into what caused the incident.
