Qantas will start its first international Dreamliner route to Los Angeles from Melbourne next year.
Qantas’ 787-9 Dreamliner will replace the existing 747 service from December 15, 2017 subject to regulatory approval.
The service will operate six times a week alongside daily Airbus 380 flights which currently operate on the route.
The three-class Qantas Dreamliner will carry 236 passengers.
"The Dreamliner is a game-changing aircraft that opens up a new era for Qantas, and it’s been designed with passenger comfort in mind. The aircraft itself offers passengers larger windows, a smoother ride and better air quality to reduce jetlag," said Qantas CEO Gareth Evans.
The Dreamliner service increases the number of weekly flights to LAX from Melbourne to 13, and fares will go live from Christmas Day 2016.
