There were 5.8 million overnight international visitors with Latin America a key feeder market, notably Brazil, Colombia and Argentina.
These three nations contributed 20% of international overnight visitors, while LatAm as a whole represented 45% of the total, Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau said.
Domestically, New York City was the largest metro market, with 1.2 million visitors heading south for some sunshine.
The travel and hospitality sector employed a record 142,100 people during 2018, GMCVB said.
