Royal Caribbean Group to vaccinate all crew members
Royal Caribbean Group says all crew members on its three cruise lines will require Covid-19 vaccinations before returning to work.
The company outlined the measure in a letter to crew members of Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea Cruises, revealed by Crew Center.
"We have been working hard, in collaboration with government entities, scientists and experts to continue to develop our plan to keep our guests, crew and communities we visit safe. The new Covid-19 vaccines present a new opportunity to do just that," the letter said.
It hasn’t outlined a timeline for vaccinations and is ‘still working on the details.’
It will depend on ‘the country of residence, the timing of the next contract and whether the crew is already on board or traveling.’
The company confirmed the plan by issuing a statement.
"The vaccines are a way to build protection for everyone involved and we continue to look into all options that will assist in keeping people safe."
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has also announced a vaccination program for all returning crew members while some cruise lines are taking extra measures.
UK based Saga and small ship lines American Queen Steamboat Company and Victory Cruise Lines will require crew and all passengers to be vaccinated.
