Royal Caribbean has quietly changed policy and will charge fees for the RipCord by iFly sky diving simulator and the North Star observation capsule on Quantum of the Seas sailings.
Both signature amenities were previously free of charge to all guests.
The new fees of $26 for iFly and $20 for a ride on North Star take effect from December 30, 2015, according to the Cruise Critic website.
Quantum is currently sailing in Asia and Australia, however it appears the charges have not been extended to US based sister ship Anthem of the Seas.
Bookings for the rides are being taken via Royal’s Cruise Planner online tool however there is no word on whether guests who opt not to pre-book and wait in a standby line will be charged.
