Cruisers aboard the Royal Caribbean’s Grandeur of the Seas are probably the only people in the nation thankful for mega snowstorm Jonas.
The ship was due back in Baltimore on Sunday from an eight-day Bahamas cruise, but will instead spend an additional day at sea.
"I was not totally surprised and frankly, happy to be delayed," said passenger Meg Ryan of New Jersey.
"First, it is an extra day of vacation, but more importantly, safety comes first and travel on Sunday would be difficult, if not impossible."
Baltimore was right in the eye of storm Jonas, receiving its largest snowfall on record.
The Maryland Department of Transportation said the port was not ready to accept the ship on Sunday.
Grandeur of the Seas was originally scheduled to depart Baltimore again for its next sailing on Sunday.
Authorities said there were at least 22 deaths attributed to storm Jonas on roads in several states from New York to Georgia.
