Sabre automates SkyTeam RTW fares
Sabre Corp is rolling out new tech aimed at automating the process for agents booking round the world air fares.
It will be available for multi segment journeys booked on SkyTeam alliance airlines and will provide a price automatically for the complete journey.
Previously agents had to manually calculate the price of each segment of the trip.
Sabre also says it will help cut down on Agency Debit Memos, which are generated when there is a discrepancy between fares offered and the airline’s published price.
“Booking RTW tickets has been a pain-point for airlines and agencies for some time, and a challenge we have been eager to help solve,” said Wade Jones, Sabre senior vice president of marketing.
“SkyTeam is a great first alliance to have on board and we fully expect this new standard to drive more RTW fares for carriers.”
The new capability is now available for SkyTeam’s Go Round the World (RTW) and Go Round Asia & Southwest Pacific fares.
