Sabre Travel Network adds new features to Central Command business info system
Sabre Travel Network has enhanced Sabre Central Command with Agresso, its fully-integrated business information system. Travel management companies (TMCs) can now set conditional alerts into the system to notify a travel manager if a booking is made that doesn’t conform to the defined travel policy. They can also automate common back office tasks such as debt collection or creditor payments.
Hillgate Travel, one of the UK’s largest travel management companies, has been using Sabre Central Command since launch. Last month the company re-signed a long-standing agreement with Sabre Travel Network ensuring it would continue to use the Sabre GDS across its operations.
Sabre Central Command allows TMCs to choose from over 65 standard reports, or customise their own, to quickly measure and understand all areas of their business, including individual profit and loss statements for all of their customers. Other features provide greater security, enhanced data, and increased automation of payment processes and totally secure online access, for both the TMC and the corporate customer, to pre-trip and post-trip data from a variety of booking sources.
Launched in 2005 in partnership with Agresso, a leader in financial and client services applications, Sabre Central Command helps TMCs streamline their financial and accounting processes and provide better customer service to their clients. It delivers critical information in real-time, and can import data from outside sources. The product also enables TMCs to email their clients complete or partial statements, invoices and credit notes and can handle accounting applications in multiple languages and currencies, while complying with VAT and global tax requirements.
Sabre Central Command also gives business travellers a secure ‘web link’ facility that allows invoices to be stored. These can then be accessed directly by travellers when completing their expense claims.
Simon Bull, Hillgate Travel’s client services director, said: “Our long relationship with Sabre Travel Network has brought a close working relationship which is very important to our business. The invoicing feature is an important example of the flexibility demanded by clients in the current market. As on many previous occasions Sabre adopted an approach we admire – they are always willing to listen to what exactly we require and then they are adept at translating our need into a definitive enhancement. Sabre Central Command is simply the latest addition to a powerful armoury.”
Sabre Central Command is available either as a fully independent system where the agency manages their own information on-site, or as a hosted or service bureau solution, where Sabre manages the data from its secure data centre. Agents pay a monthly subscription fee which varies dependent on transaction volume and configuration required.
Reet Wiseman, Sabre Travel Network’s vice-president for the UK and Ireland, said: “Sabre Central Command is another example of Sabre adding value by helping TMCs run their businesses more effectively. Our data and financial applications give them unparalleled capabilities to measure, understand, monitor and manage their business.”
