Tootsies Orchid Lounge moves to the beach

Nashville-based Tootsies Orchid Lounge opened its doors to country music lovers in Panama City Beach’s Pier Park in 2008, and the popular spot is set to relocate to a beach club space this year. Once remodeled, the space will offer an expansive beachfront property for guests to enjoy nightly live entertainment. www.tootsiesflorida.com

 

Dolly Parton’s Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show

Coming May 2025

Country music icon Dolly Parton is bringing swashbuckling fun to Panama City Beach with the Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show, expected to open in Spring 2025. Topgolf to open in Pier Park

Coming spring 2025

High-tech golf entertainment complex Topgolf is set to open a new 38,000-square-feet facility in Panama City Beach’s Pier Park in spring 2025. It will feature two levels with climate-controlled golf ball hitting bays and an outfield with electronic targets for a game that all ages can enjoy, plus a full-service restaurant and bar. www.topgolf.com

 

New accessible beach access point

Expected July 2024

A new accessible beach access point will open on Surf Drive, towards the west of Panama City Beach. Bay County Parks and Recreation and Visit Panama City Beach have teamed up to convert Beach Access 22 into a new ADA-accessible point, and will include disabled parking spaces, accessible mats that will roll down to the beach, and accessible showers.

 

Bicycle Lanes on Back Beach Road

Development ongoing through 2024

Back Beach Road is currently undergoing a multi-phase expansion project that will include new bicycle lanes and pavements for locals and visitors to enjoy. In addition to enhancing the walkability, the project aims to reduce traffic congestion and improve safety.

 

New Hotels

Coming soon in 2024

Two new hotels are due to open in the coming months. A 121-suite Residence Inn by Marriott has opened close to the popular Pier Park shopping and entertainment district, and the Tru by Hilton will open on Panama City Beach Parkway, offering an affordable lodging option that blends both comfort and functionality, plus an array of amenities for travelers.

 

Panama City Beach is situated on 27 miles of white sand beaches where the Gulf of Mexico and St. Andrew Bay converge. It boats 320 days of sunshine per year.
