Budget carrier Scoot is planning to launch its first long haul flights to Europe.
The airline has identified Athens, Greece as its first foray into Europe, which is slated to begin in June 2017.
The Singapore-Athens route will be flown with new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners featuring 329 seats, including 18 in ScootBiz.
"Guests have requested us to fly to Europe for a while, and Scoot is excited to finally oblige. Scoot has devoted much thought to configuring our cabin products and services to elevate and transform the low-cost travel experience, enabled by our world-first all-787 Dreamliner fleet," said Lee Lik Hsin, CEO of parent Budget Aviation Holdings (BAH).
This has positioned us well to mount our first-ever long-haul flight between Asia-Pacific and Europe."
BAH itself is a wholly-owned unit of Singapore Airlines, and also owns and operates regional low cost carrier Tigerair.
