SeaWorld names new head of corporate affairs
SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc. has announced the promotion of Jill Kermes to chief corporate affairs officer.
Kermes will oversee all media relations, government affairs functions and corporate social responsibility activities.
She was previously senior corporate affairs officer and joined the company in 2013 from PR firm Ketchum, where she was Washington DC-based senior vice president for corporate affairs.
"Jill has been instrumental in building out the company’s corporate affairs department and overseeing the evolution of our company’s reputational efforts," CEO Joel Manby said.
"I look forward to her continued counsel as we execute on our future plans and increase our advocacy efforts for animals in the wild – in our parks, with our guests and through engagement with policymakers, conservation groups and other constituencies."
Kermes will lead the overall public communications efforts.
SeaWorld also announced the appointment of Jack Roddy as new chief human resources & culture officer.
Both appointments take effect on June 20, SeaWorld said.
