Shots fired at airport passenger screening checkpoint
A person is in custody after opening fire inside an airport terminal.
Shots were fired inside Oregon’s Portland International Airport at a TSA passenger screening checkpoint.
No one was injured in the airport shooting.
According to witnesses up to three shots were fired.
It sparked an immediate response from police but no details have been disclosed about the suspect or what led up to the airport shooting.
Police were photographed later escorted the female suspect to a patrol car.
“Police responded promptly, they took someone into custody and there was no ongoing threat to anyone’s safety,” the Port of Portland said.
The airport terminal was cleared and eventually reopened early on Wednesday.
Port of Portland spokesperson Allison Ferre said the suspect was not attempting to pass through security screening and did not have a ticket to board a flight.
