Silver Airways grounding Panama City, FL flights

Florida regional carrier Silver Airways said it plans to discontinue flying out of the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport in Panama City.
The service will end on August 15, said airport executive director Parker McClellan.
The decision was business-related, McClelland said, as Silver shifts its strategy toward the Florida-Cuba market.
Last week the carrier was awarded a permit to fly to nine regional airports in Cuba from Fort Lauderdale which it will launch later this year.
McClellan said the airline had a ‘non-signatory’ agreement with the airport authority, allowing it to end flight operations at any time.
Silver Airways began flying from Panama City in March 2015 and serves Tampa daily and Orlando twice a day.
