A Singapore travel agency has been fined S$25,500 by the Singapore Tourism Board for doing business without a valid license for four years.
The permit for RTW Air Services lapsed in 2011 and it did not renew until after a routine check in 2014.
It has since applied for a new license which has been granted, the STB said.
The agency was convicted of 17 violations under the Travel Agents Act, according to a STB statement with a further 33 similar charges taken into consideration.
Travel agent licenses in Singapore are typically valid for a two-year period.
The tourism board has again urged customers to check the STB online database of legally licensed agents in Singapore, and called for the public to ‘exercise due diligence when making arrangements for their travel.’
