Global aviation technology provider SITA has agreed a partnership with South Korea’s Asiana IDT to power customer service focused tech solutions to airlines and airports in South Korea and across Asia.
SITA will offer its portfolio of solutions in passenger management, cargo, communications and infrastructure services to Asiana IDT’s aviation clients.
The agreement includes SITA Global Services, which is unique to the aviation industry, providing a 2000-strong team around the world based ‘on the ground’ for SITA customers
"This new partnership with SITA will allow us to provide our airline and airport customers with the perfect blend of Asiana IDT’s regional expertise and SITA’s renowned global solutions and delivery of world-class customer service," said Han Chang Soo, CEO of Asiana IDT
"This is the ideal combination for Korea’s air transport industry which is looking to expand its international business and to operate on a global level."
Asiana IDT is an affiliate of Kumho Asiana, one of South Korea’s largest conglomerates.
It comprises aviation businesses Asiana Airlines, Air Busan, Asiana Airport and soon to launch budget carrier Air Seoul.
"South Korea has a clear focus on developing its tourism industry so it is appropriate that SITA has partnered with Asiana IDT during the 2016-2018 Visit Korea Year program. Together we can support the airlines and airports of Korea to use world-class technology to transform the passenger experience and innovate for the future of the Korean air transport industry," said Ilya Gutlin, SITA president for Asia Pacific.
