Six Flags reportedly keen to buy rival Cedar Fair
America’s largest theme park brand could be about to grow even larger.
Six Flags Entertainment has reportedly made a merger offer to Cedar Fair which would combine the country’s two largest operators.
Cedar Fair is mulling Six Flags’ cash-and-stock offer, according to people familiar with the matter, Reuters reports.
No further details were disclosed and there is no certainty a deal will be agreed.
Still, Cedar Fair’s stock price saw a double-digit increase on the news.
Six Flags operates 26 parks across the US, Mexico and Canada, while Sandusky, Ohio-based Cedar Fair has 16 locations in North America including Carowinds and Knotts Berry Farm.
