Indian budget carrier will conduct retraining for 90 grounded pilots barred from flying Boeing 737 Max aircraft.

It follows a fine imposed by regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation as the pilots were trained on faulty simulators.

“For the moment, we have barred these pilots from flying Max and they have to retrain successfully,” DGCA Director General Arun Kumar said:

The airline now plans to do this

The airline has about 650 pilots trained on the 737 Max aircraft.

“This restriction does not impact the operations of Max aircraft and the company has adequate trained pilots available,” SpiceJet said.
