Budget carrier Spirit Airlines is coming to Pittsburgh International Airport and will launch seven new routes from May this year.
Spirit will start flying year-round out of Pittsburgh daily to Dallas/Fort Worth, Orlando, Las Vegas, Houston and Los Angeles, seasonally once a day to Myrtle Beach, and three times a week to Fort Lauderdale.
Pittsburgh is the 61st city in its network.
It already flies to the nearby small airport of Latrobe.
"Pittsburgh is an excellent place to expand our growing network," said Mark Kopczak, vice president of Network Planning for Spirit Airlines.
"This new service complements Spirit’s existing service from Latrobe, and will help us provide even more ultra-low fare options from western Pennsylvania."
Fares are now live for booking on Sprit’s website.
