Star Cruises abruptly cancels all Thai cruises from Laem Chabang
Star Cruises has announced the suspension of its Laem Chabang, Thailand cruises just one month after launching.
The service launched on December 1 with sailings to Koh Samui and Cambodia but will cease on January 1.
The Genting Hong Kong-owned line said the SuperStar Gemini ship will instead sail from Taiwan on charter trips.
The Gulf of Thailand cruises included four-day voyages to Sihanoukville in Cambodia and Koh Samui, along with a two-night sailing to Koh Kong in Cambodia.
Star Cruises told the Bangkok Post, all customers booked on cruises out of Laem Chabang will receive a full refund, or be reassigned on to cruises out of Phuket, Hong Kong or Singapore.
The company didn’t say if it would return to Laem Chabang at a later date.
The SuperStar Gemini was scheduled to be homeported there until April next year.
