SuperStar Virgo heads for Hong Kong
SINGAPORE – Star Cruises, as part of its latest strategic redeployment programme, is introducing SuperStar Virgo, the largest and the most extravagant ship in its Asian fleet, to Hong Kong in April.
Star Cruises said the move “indicates the company’s determination and emphasis in the Greater China market and the move will strengthen its development in the region”.
“It also helps to uplift Hong Kong’s market significance as an international cruise centre.”
SuperStar Virgo’s seasonal deployment programme will see her depart from Singapore on March 28.
She will call at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Sanya in China on March 30 and April 1 respectively, prior to arrival in Hong Kong on April 2.
Her inaugural cruise season will comprise of destination cruises to Xiamen and Sanya in China and Halong Bay in Vietnam.
There will also be four special cruises to Keelung, Taiwan, in April, June, July and September.
Michael Goh, vice president, sales & marketing – Greater China, said, “The seasonal deployment will help bring new elements to customers of different regions so as to continue the appeal of cruising to our customers, repeat and new,”
He said the ship would also offer a quality choice for group and MICE travel.
Currently, SuperStar Aquarius, SuperStar Libra and Star Pisces are home-ported in Hong Kong.
The seasonal deployment programme will see SuperStar Aquarius leaving Hong Kong on March 24 for Singapore and return on October 28, while SuperStar Libra will be deployed to Taiwan from March 26 until November 1.
