SuperStar Virgo to homeport in Manila

Star Cruises will become the first major line to homeport a ship in the Philippines capital Manila.
The SuperStar Virgo will call Manila home from mid-March until the end of May offering five-night Asia cruises.
Voyages will call at Laoag in the Philippines, Kaohsiung in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
‘We are confident that inclusion of the Philippines in the itinerary of SuperStar Virgo will help strengthen the country’s position as a competitive cruise destination in the region,’ said Benito C. Bengzon Jr., Philippines department of tourism undersecretary.
The 75,000 tonne SuperStar Virgo has a capacity for about 1,800 passengers.
Ang Moo Lim, president of Star Cruises said: "Star Cruises was the first major cruise line to recruit Filipinos 23 years ago for our cruise ships and now we are pleased to be the first international cruise line to welcome Filipinos on board Superstar Virgo as our guests."
