Survey says leg room worth extra bucks
A new survey from GO Airport Express found that customers would pay for more leg room (48 percent) over any other paid-for in-flight extra.
WiFi was second on the list at 33 percent and 30 percent said they would pay to sit in a child-free area.
GO Airport Express, a shuttle service to and from O’Hare an Midway Airports, polled travelers around the US. Over 360 people responded.
Other things passengers would pay extra for included in-flight meals at 21 percent and aisle seats at 12 percent. Seventeen percent of passengers polled, however, said they thought everything listed on the survey should be included in the price of the ticket.
The lowest percentage of travelers, four percent, said they would pay to sit in a child-friendly area.
"Controlling their level of comfort seems to be the top priorities that airline travelers would be willing to pay for," said John McCarthy, president, GO Airport Express. "Airlines may benefit by focusing on these areas."
