An airport terminal in West Virginia was evacuated yesterday after two bottles in a passenger’s hand luggage tested positive for possible liquid explosives.

A bomb-sniffing dog discovered the containers after a screener noticed a bottle belonging to a passenger, of Pakistani origin, as she prepared to board a flight to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Two containers in the possession of the woman were taken by a robot to a remote area for analysis. The woman was detained by the FBI.

A security spokeswoman said: “It looks like there were four items containing liquids…two of these containers tested positive.”

Flights were temporarily suspended and about 100 passengers and airport employees were ordered to leave the terminal.
