Hotels.com says 75% of travelers will take to the road over the long July 4th weekend.

The survey of more than 600 people also found that one quarter will be driving more than 360 miles; over a third will be with families.

Hotels.com also announced the top ten road trip destinations. Atlantic City, NJ, was first, followed by Ocean City, MD, and Santa Barbara, CA.

The other top ten were Philadelphia, PA; Savannah, GA; San Antonio, TX; Palm Springs, CA: Virginia Beach, VA; New York City, NY; and Chicago, IL

Hotels Com Road Trips is an online shopping for planning, researching and booking overnight drive trips. Users can input a zip code to discover choices.
