Thai Airways union opposes plan to form a new airline
The union representing Thai Airways workers has slammed a proposal to establish a new airline to replace the struggling flag carrier. It urged the government to continue its support for Thai Airways’ debt-restructuring plan.
It makes more sense to rehabilitate the ailing carrier rather than start from scratch. The union says it still has credibility as a well admired internationally known brand.
Thai has debts of more than THB300 billion and is currently undergoing restructuring through the Central Bankruptcy Court.
