Thailand’s airlines push for dispersal of soft loans
Thailand’s airlines are again pushing the government to hand out soft loans. The Thai Airlines Association (TAA) on behalf of its seven member airlines, want new talks with Thai PM Prayut Chan-o-cha to check progress of their loan requests.
The airlines first asked for loans several months ago but little progress has been made. Thailand is currently in a third wave of Covid-19 and thier financial plight has worsened considerably, the airlines say.
The TAA is made up of Thai AirAsia, Thai AirAsia X, Bangkok Airways, Nok Air, Thai Smile Airways, Thai Lion Air, and Thai Vietjet Air.
