Hotel owners plan to build the first ever horror-themed museum inside the hotel.
It also revealed plans for a 500-seat auditorium, exhibition space and a production studio with a soundstage to transform into a ‘year-round horror destination.’
Developers hope to partner with the Colorado Film School to operate the business as a public-private, non-profit enterprise and are hopeful of securing $11.5 million in state funding.
The total cost of the project is thought to be about $24 million.
Hollywood actors Elijah Wood, Simon Pegg and horror movie director George A. Romero have lent their support and signed up as founding members of the museum board.
‘Ghost Adventure’ packages have long been offered at the hotel and it also hosts an annual horror film festival.
