Thomson suffers technical problems
Thomson and First Choice have confirmed that their retail shops experienced technical problems yesterday.
TravelMole was alerted by a subscriber who complained that although Thomson had processed his booking for a flight, it was unable to provide a confirmation.
Bryan Dredge was told that the operator’s systems was able to accept bookings but could not send any confirmations.
"It’s a shocking state of affairs for major company like Thomsom to have a system unavailability for this long," he said.
A spokesman for Thomson confirmed there had been a problem with some booking programmes since yesterday morning.
"Our retail agents, however are still able to complete sales and bookings as normal using alternative systems," he said.
"Customers booking holidays online remain unaffected. We are working to rectify the problem and anticipate that the usual booking systems will be up and running this evening."
It has not yet been confirmed whether the problems have now been fixed.
