Threat level downgraded for Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano
The U.S. Geological Survey downgraded its alert level for Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano, now expecting activity to be contained within the crater. It doesn’t expect it to be a high risk within the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park or beyond that to nearby residences.
The alert level for aviation was lowered to orange ‘reflecting the less-hazardous nature of the ongoing eruption.’ The latest activity in the cater has seen tourists flocking to the park for a glimpse.
