Threat to BA flight to New York
Police and sniffer dogs met a British Airways flight from Heathrow to New York after an ‘unspecified threat’ on Thursday.
BA flight 185, with 206 passengers and 13 crew on board, landed at Newark and was moved to the far corner of the airport where passengers were evacuated and luggage removed.
According to reports, all bags were re-screened as a precaution.
A BA spokesman refused to comment on the nature of the threat, but said: "The aircraft landed normally and customers have disembarked. The safety of our customers and crew is our number one priority."
