EDITOR’S NOTE
In response to this week’s TravelMole Interview with Keith
Webber, Telewest, Ed Spiers has commented: “Viewdata/XML is no
longer the real issue. The focus in tour operating is finally
moving to the real distribution issues that Keith describes, ie.
Content (primarily brochure content) and to a lesser extent,
CRM. More importantly, these issues are relevant and important
to all of the tour operating industry, big and small alike, and
will not be hampered by seeming inactivity/non-co-operation from
the big four.

“The real benefit for travel agents and consumers alike will
come from not just access to content distribution, but the
search and aggregation of that content through one point of
contact.”

travel community site. It’s good to see that being an active

will serve to keep the content fresh and make the community
active and engaging. A scale operates for points rewards, which
can be gained by submitting journals, photos, or referring
friends. The design is clear and consistent, and the whole site
is well-maintained and very active. Recommended.”
