Travel B2B platform Tourico Holidays said cruise vacation business grew 37% in 2016 while average transaction value was also up by 8%.
Tourico said the core US market was the main driver, up by nearly half year over year.
There was also double-digit growth in the UK market, Canada and Latin America.
"Through our global distribution network, industry-leading XML technology, and dedicated support team, we’ve been able to consistently increase our bookings and bottom line with cruise line partners,"" said Lori Sheller, Vice President of Cruise Development for Tourico.
Tourico also touted a record breaking start to 2017 with cruise bookings up 38% in January.
The wholesale travel brokerage has just signed new distribution partnership with all-inclusive line Regent Seven Seas.
"We’re predicting more cruisers will hit the seas in 2017 than any previous year on the books," said Sheller. The upward trend in cruising will also be aided by an influx of bookings from China – as cruise companies shift their focus to the Asian market."
