Tourism concern investigates all-inclusives
Report on working conditions and labour rights to be launched in March
In 2013 Tourism Concern, supported by the International Union of Food, Agricultural, Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Tobacco and Allied Workers’ Associations (IUF) undertook research in order to seek to understand more fully how the all-inclusive model of tourism impacts upon the rights of hotel workers.
The primary aim was to generate new evidence and understanding about how the all-inclusive holiday model impacts upon pay, working conditions and labour rights of hotel employees in the selected destinations, including comparison with those in other types of hotel.
The research was also to investigate how these working conditions influence the wider social and economic status and living conditions of employees and their families.
The report will be launched at an event hosted by Steve Reed OBE MP at the Palace of Westminster on Monday 24th March 6pm – numbers are limited so invites will be sent to Friends, Members, ETOG and partners initially – if you would like to attend and currently not a Friend or Member you can join online today.
Our consumer survey on all-inclusives will close at the end of February – if you have not yet taken part please take a couple of minutes and give us your views – whether you have been on an all-inclusive holiday or not.http:// https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/all-inclusives
