Traffic light system set to be ditched
The government’s divisive traffic light Covid grading system could soon be scrapped. It looks set to end, with an announcement due by early next month.
The green and amber tiers could be removed and replaced with a new system, according to the BBC, but a red list high risk advisory would remain.
Travel industry bosses, who will apparently be involved in devising the new system, say the removal of Covid testing for vaccinated travellers is essential to the sector’s recovery.
