Travel companies extend suspension dates to end of June

Travel companies are starting to extend their suspension dates until the end of June as a result of the ongoing global impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Exodus Travels previously suspended departures until May 16.

All travel agent partners with passengers booked on tours affected by this suspension are being contacted by Exodus Travels’ team and will be advised of the available options.

Managing director Sam Seward said: "Ensuring customer safety and enjoyment is our primary focus at Exodus Travels.

"We have therefore taken the decision to suspend further tours in the best interests of our customers, our leaders and all our partners. I’d like to thank our industry colleagues for their understanding and continued support during this unprecedented time.

"We look forward to returning to normal operations as soon as it is safe to do so and welcoming customers on new departure dates in 2020 or 2021."

Viking Cruises said its ships won’t now sail until July.

It said: "On 11 March 2020, Viking was the first cruise line to temporarily suspend operations of our river and ocean cruises. Our commitment to our family of guests and employees is that their safety and wellbeing is always our top priority.

"In that spirit, we have made the decision to extend our temporary suspension of operations through June 30, 2020."
