Travel agencies have suspended tours to the Japanese island of Kyushu and started refunding customers with bookings following two powerful earthquake which have claimed more than 40 lives.
Online travel firm Ctrip has suspended all tours and urged independent travellers to stay away while the hunt for survivors continues.
Ctrip said it had 200 customers in Kyushu at the weekend and all have been accounted for.
Another online travel agency Tuniu said it will also waive cancellation fees and refund customers in full until April 22.
China Southern Airlines and Air China announced they would offer full refunds or waive change fees on all routes to Fukuoka
Kumamoto prefecture was rocked by two earthquakes more than a day apart which injured about 1,500 people and left more than 200,000 households without electricity or water.
The 400-year old Kumamoto Castle, a popular tourist attraction, was also partially damaged by the twin earthquakes.
