Travelocity launches ‘net rates’ in Europe
Travelocity is offering negotiated ‘net rates’ to European customers for the first time.
The online agent has negotiated rates with 13,000 hotels including those in the Starwood, InterContinental, Choice Hotels, and Marriott International groups. Travelocity adds its own mark-up to these rates before they are offered to consumers.
The net rates offering is already available to customers in the US and will be launched in the UK to start with and gradually extended across Europe.
The hotels can access and manage their own inventory in the Travelocity websites. This can be done through the internet or through the Sabre GDS.
Travelocity.co.uk managing director, Ned Booth said: “Hotels can now benefit from the unparalleled sales clout of an online agency with 44 million members around the world, while maintaining the flexibility to adjust rates and inventory as required.”
