UK FlyZero project touts zero-carbon non-stop transatlantic flights
A liquid hydrogen-powered aircraft is being developed in England which is targeting non-stop zero-carbon flights to the US. Led by the Aerospace Technology Institute as part of the government’s FlyZero project, it could fly from London to San Francisco non-stop.
Called a ‘new dawn for aviation,’ it would perform at the ‘same speed and comfort as today’s airliners.’ It is designed to carry up to 279 passengers. According to Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng, it could ‘define the future of aerospace and aviation.’
