United Airlines unveils upgraded mobile app features
United Airlines has rolled out a new upgraded mobile app with a host of new tools.
Customers get a more dynamic experience with updates at each step of their travel journey, the airline says.
Enhancements include a My Trips tab which enables customers to easily access upcoming trip information and store boarding passes once they check in.
Push notifications alert United customers about any flight or gate changes, and notifies when boarding has commenced.
The app continues to offer tools such as bag tracking.
Home screen content offers more personalization.
It recognizes loyalty milestones being reached and sends customers a birthday greeting.
Starting at 48 hours before a flight, the app sends any necessary updates and information at the various steps through the journey up to arrival at the final destination.
"With this updated app, we set out to bring improvements that are meaningful to all our customers, whether they travel every week or only once a year," said Linda Jojo, executive vice president of technology and chief digital officer.
The app was beta tested on more than 13,000 customer check-ins and expects to roll out more features later this year and continues to take customer feedback on app performance and user experience.
