Upcoming air travel no cause for Thanksgiving

Thursday, 24 Oct, 2006 0

Air travelers won’t be giving much thanks this Thanksgiving for at least two reasons: Bookings are way up and prices are climbing.

So much so that airfare is 15% more than a year ago, according to an analysis by consulting firm Sabre Airline Solutions for USA Today.

Bookings are still up 42% ahead of last year, according to Sabre.

Even worse news is that some new holiday travelers may not be aware of recent baggage requirements.

There’s enough confusion that about a third of passengers on a regular day fail to meet the new requirements, holding up security lines, said a spokesman for the Nashville airport.
