Viking to offer Newark-Malta charter flights for Med cruises
Cruise line Viking plans to send Americans to the Mediterranean on fly-cruise charter flights. The cruise line reportedly will charter Lufthansa aircraft from Newark to Malta twice a week.
They would operate between July and October, timed around Viking’s cruise departures out of Malta. The Viking Sea and the new Viking Venus will be based out of Malta this summer.
The US is Viking’s largest single source market and cruise departures out of Malta will likely begin just before the US cruise industry restarts.
