Village Roadshow lawsuit filed over injury at Movie World

A woman is suing Australian theme park operator Village Roadshow after she allegedly fell and injured herself watching a New Year’s Day parade.
The Gold Coast Bulletin reports Helena Geragotelis, 26, is seeking more than $500,000 for a fall which caused cervical and lumbar spine injuries, a wrist injury and concussion.
Geragotelis had climbed onto a raised flowerbed to see the 2014 parade at Movie World on the Gold Coast.
The theme park failed to warn customers of the hazards of standing on raised flowerbeds as the designated viewing area became overcrowded.
Movie World staff should have been aware visitors commonly stood on raised flowerbeds to view the parade.
She is suing Village Roadshow Theme Parks for a total of $514,174, which includes actual injuries, future medical treatment, and past and future loss of earnings due to her medical condition.
