The Las Vegas Strip is getting a new luxury hotel brand.
Waldorf Astoria is coming to Sin City and will take over the current Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas.
Just days ago Mandarin Oriental revealed its management contract was being termainated following the sale of the property to an undisclosed buyer for $214 million.
The Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas will launch later in the year and will undergo a refurbishment.
It currently features 392 rooms and opened in 2009.
It has five restaurants and bars, a spa and 12,000 feet of meeting space.
"We are thrilled to announce the addition of a Waldorf Astoria in the western part of the US and in the heart of such a dynamic, internationally beloved city like Las Vegas," said Martin Rinck, global head, luxury & lifestyle group, at parent Hilton.
"Paired with the recently opened Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills and the brand’s recently announced properties in San Francisco and Antigua, the signing of Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas builds on the brand’s exciting trajectory."
Mandarin Oriental’s management contract is due to run out at the end of August.
