Wightlink Ferries changes hands
Wightlink Ferries has been sold for an undisclosed sum to Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Partners.
The Isle of Wight ferry operator was previously owned by Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund.
In a statement, the new owners said there would be no changes to pricing, routes or schedules as a result of the change in ownership, and that the management team and existing staff will remain in place.
"Wightlink is a strong and stable company with the opportunity to grow and develop in the years to come," said BBIP partner Steven Lowry.
"We are delighted to be the new owners of the largest cross-Solent ferry operator and are committed to investing in the business, and supporting the management team’s focus on safety and improving customer service."
